The Center for receiving and transmitting messages to emergency and other services from persons with hearing impairments, residing in Minsk, is located at the Minsk City Organization of the Public Association "Belarusian Society of the Deaf".
This service is provided free of charge to persons with hearing disabilities by a sign language interpreter 24/7 without days off or holidays. The task of the sign language interpreter is to convert sign information into voice and back into sign for transmission to a deaf person. To arrange contact with a sign language interpreter, the patient should contact a medical worker at the "6th City Clinical Hospital" healthcare institution.
To contact the sign language interpreter, the medical worker makes a video call using a convenient messenger:
- Skype— 9191-belog
- Mobile phone : 8 (025) 919-19-99 (Life)
- Viber, WhatsApp
- Landline phone: 8 (017) 374-07-34 (for hearing persons)
After dialing the number, when the sign language interpreter appears on the screen, the medical worker indicates the healthcare institution (HEI "6th City Clinical Hospital") from which the request is made, as well as the Last Name, First Name, Patronymic of the patient.
The medical worker turns the tablet (smartphone) camera towards the patient so that they can see the sign language interpreter.
The medical worker communicates with the deaf person through the sign language interpreter. At this time, the sign language interpreter conveys voice information from the patient to the medical worker of the institution.
At the end of the appointment, the medical worker ends the video call.
